Window Seat (ongoing)

Have you ever sat by the window on a flight? Since my first trip at the age of 11—flying to Spain one Christmas with my family—I’ve always been captivated by the window seat. I remember pressing my face to the glass, mesmerised by the world below: patchwork fields, toy-like houses, mountains, clouds, ships, and beaches passing in rapid succession. It felt like a whistle-stop tour of the planet.

From up there, all the borders, boundaries, fences, and walls we’ve built vanish. You’re given a rare, uninterrupted perspective—cities, deserts, oceans, mountains—laid out like a living map. It’s a feeling of pure freedom, and one I’ve never grown tired of. That sense of curiosity and wonder has stayed with me through every journey, no matter how far.

As the world changes rapidly—with rising sea levels and the growing threat of climate change—I’ve come to see this project as more than a visual exploration. It has become a quiet document of our time, a record of the landscapes we inhabit and the traces we leave behind.
